Three years ago, I hit "send" on the very first edition of Amy’s Antidote. I started it because I needed a place to write that was fully mine. At the time, all my creative energy was funneled into agency work, big brand campaigns, and media bylines, none of which really belonged to me. So I started small. A casual approach for a few friends. We grew a bit once The Setback Cycle was published. We grew more after events, a few small partnerships, a viral TEDx talk, and more. Over time, this tiny corner of the internet turned into a community of several thousand thoughtful, curious, resilient humans. As the newsletter has grown, so has its purpose. And you know me as me now. Not the person who works with that big company. Or the person who might write about my client for Forbes. Not just as a writer, but as the person who helped shape your thought leadership strategy. The coach who guided your team through a difficult transition. The person you talked to after a keynote, or the person you connected with after your company’s event. Perhaps we hung out eating snacks at that conference we almost didn’t go to but were both so glad we did. Some of you haven’t worked with me (yet). You just read along, for the journaling prompts, the data, the stories, the cultural commentary, the occasional spicy take. Maybe you hate-read it! Honestly, respect. Either way, now you know me as me. And yet this newsletter has evolved to hold the opposite role. This space isn’t about me anymore. It’s for you. Which is why this newsletter is getting a small-but-meaningful rebrand. Starting next week, it’ll be called: The Sunday Setup: Your Antidote to the Sunday Scaries Same tone. Same rhythm. Still me in your inbox every other Sunday (realistically, every Sunday would destroy my time management and add to your already-too-full inbox). But now the name reflects what this newsletter has already become: a space to help you reset, reflect, move through setbacks, or set the stage for your next chapter. What’s staying the same?
So yeah, a little rebrand. A fresh name. (This feels way bigger than when I changed my name from Schoenberger to Shoenthal. In retrospect that was barely a change. I didn’t even have to change my social media handles.) I’m doing all this while joining my friend Amanda Goetz’s #35Hard - because like you, I'm always trying to sharpen my skills and level up what I bring to this space. Here’s where I’d love your help: What do you want more of? Less of? What’s been most helpful? Hit reply and tell me. I really do read every one. Thank you for sticking with me, whether you’ve been here all three years or if you just joined last week. No matter when you arrived, I’m just so glad you’re here. In the meantime, here’s what I’m: I was late to this but the book Mad Honey. WOW. I forgot how good Jodi Piccoult is, and the twist that happens halfway through is amazing and mind blowing. Reading this makes you understand so much more about humanity, mostly because of bees. This conversation between Mel Robbins and Dr. Stacy Sims. I was incorrectly doing intermittent fasting until I, like many women, realized that this technique is great for men, not so much for women. They talk about why in this episode. Whether or not the all-female Blue Origin space flight was a giant step for womankind. Sending a few rich and famous ladies to space is fine, but it is hard not to think about the impact all that money could have had down here on Earth. Though I do take issue with the criticism of the "fake eyelashes floating in zero gravity" comment. That was not the problem here. Keep all the makeup and eyelashes you want, but remain accountable for using your fame, money and influence to better the world around you once back on solid ground. The Southern C for inviting me and Gwen to talk about how to set the stage for your next chapter. If you’re here because of that event, welcome! Speaking of where I’m speaking, here are two upcoming conferences I'd love to see you at:
Next time you get this, it'll be on Sunday night, and you'll see the new "Sunday Setup" look. I'm so excited to hear what you think. Amy |

Happy Mother’s Day, whether you’re a mom, have a mom, know a mom, or if mom stuff brings up weird feelings and you ignored the whole thing. No wrong way to deal with today. I spent Saturday getting tipsy with my “it takes a village” village at our local park’s Mother’s Day Lawn Party, and today I celebrated with my own mom and extended fam over lots of food (our love language) and handmade cards from the kids. Last week's recap: Our last challenge was all about carving out 15 minutes a day...
Welcome to The Sunday Setup! It’s pretty much still Amy’s Antidote, just more structured to help set you up for a blend of productivity and balance this week while also managing to have some fun. Think of it as your little buffer between weekend-you and work-mode-you. Whether you’re here to distract yourself from the Sunday Scaries or save this for your Monday commute, I’m just so glad you’re here. Each week, I’ll be sending you one small, meaningful action that might offer a little more...
I love a good spring cleaning closet refresh. After unpacking from last week's family vacation, I spent yesterday morning clearing out my closet and filling up two giant garbage bags of clothes to give away. I pride myself on keeping a fairly minimalist wardrobe (credited to many years spent in small Manhattan apartments with limited closet space). Still, even now, with slightly more closet space, I maintain a fundamental wardrobe, plus a five-item per month Rent the Runway subscription to...
